About Karin
Her Roots: Karin comes to Nashville via Long Island, New York. So what does this New Yorker know about country music? Karin was raised with the sound of country music being played both night and day in her home. Her late father worked as an engineer for WHN radio in NYC, the only big country station in the NYC metropolitan area, and she had the privilege of accompanying her father into the station for the rare treat of meeting radio personalities and country stars. It was years before she “found her own voice” a unique kind of country rock. Her influences have been a combination of pop, rock and country including Elton John, Billy Joel, John Mellencamp, Bruce Springsteen, Kenny Rogers, Olivia Newton John, the Judds, Dolly Parton, and Linda Rondstadt. Live Performances: A middle child who loves to perform, Karin has always been quite comfortable in the spotlight and has performed before audiences both large and small - from community festivals and church events to Jones Beach Boardwalk and Riker’s Island Prison. In Nashville, she can be found playing writer's nights around town and performing at local venues. She currently co-hosts a writer and artist spolight the third Friday of every month called Monkey in a Round (www.monkeyinaround.org) with award winning songwriter Bill DiLuigi. But you'll have to catch her when you can - this girl has wings and she knows how to use them with tours in the UK, Australia, Italy, China and Japan and humanitarian work in Kenya and the Philippines. Her desire to affect lives through her music continues to catapult her around the world.
In The Studio: Back in New York, Karin had her first studio experience singing back up for a friend's project. This led to recording her first demo which was heard by an independent producer. He asked her to join his label and record her first LP. The label never really got off the ground but the CD, Crimson Red, which featured 7 of her original songs traveled the world receiving airplay in Spain, Poland, Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Two cuts from the CD were released to US radio and charted on Power Source Christian Country (CCMA) and Contemporary/ Inspirational Charts breaking the top 40. Summer 2005 Karin recorded her second independent country/gospel CD - I Am Ready - with all new original music. I Am Ready - also recieved airplay around the world.
In the winter of '08 Karin recorded a brand new collaborative CD with award winning songwriter Bill DiLuigi. Karin and Bill traveled to Australia together to perform for country music fans at Australia's largest Country Music Festival in Tamworth. The new CD Escaped From Nashville - is representative of their most recent work and has that signature Nashville sound. It is available for purchase through CDBaby.com.
Songwriting: Karin, an established columnist and published author, has always been a writer so it was just a matter of time before she combined her love of music with her writing talent. Since her first CD - she has been improving her craft collaborating with some very gifted songwriters in Nashville and loving every minute of it. Her songs have had encouraging reviews from industry giants such as Joyce Rice at BMI Nashville, Jason Blume, hit songwriter (Back Street Boys, Brittney Spears) and Tim Fink at SESAC Nashville, to name a few. Her heart touching song "You can Always Come Home" penned with award winning songwriter Bill DiLuigi won several awards in 2006 - including runner up in the CMT/NSAI contest and honorable mention in the Great American Song Contest. She has also had several independent cuts and continues to write with some of the best writers in Nashville.

From the Heart - Music has always been in my soul for as long as I can remember, but it wasn't unitl I was an adult that the gift of music was released in me. This came as the result of me getting into a right relationship with God. Once I was safe in His Grace, I had something to sing about. Suddenly I was filled with music to sing and write. I consider this music a precious gift and an amazing way to communicate with those around me, whether it be fun, uptempo songs like The American Way or soul stirring ballads like I Am Ready or love songs like Loving Me Can't Be Easy. Whatever the message, music goes right to the heart and for me that is what matters most - to touch hearts, change lives, make you smile and tap your feet. It is my prayer that the music I create will bless you and bring glory to Jesus Christ, my Lord. - Karin
