Karin Paparelli currently writes for Fell Off The Truck Music/SESAC and has been writing professionally for over 10 years. She writes music for several genres including Country, Pop, Rock, Bluegrass, Southern Gospel, Contemporary Christian, Praise and Worship, international artists, and independent films.  Recent recordings include:

Karin is a performing songwriter and regularly appears at festivals including Key West Songwriters Festival, Pensacola Songwriters Festival, Frank Brown Songwriters Festival.  She occasionally can be found at The Blue Bird Cafe, the Listening Room Cafe and The Bitter End in New York.

Karin also hosts annual songwriters retreats and workshops in various locations.  Most recently she conducted retreats in Frisco, Colorado and plans to host others in the near future.

I have known and worked with Karin Paparelli for several years and have found her to be knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and committed to excellence. She seems to have a strong impact on the people around her. She is also able to come up with creative solutions to problems that others find insurmountable.

I regularly refer my voice students to her for one-on-one songwriting coaching and they are lavish in their praise of the results.

Songwriting Instruction

Several years ago Karin was invited to teach songwriting at Barefoot Republic Camp – an inner city youth camp which provides music, art and sportsmanship education in Tennessee. Since then news of her teaching talent has led to offers to teach at music conferences around the world including a Christian Music Conference in Italy, and a Performing Songwriter’s Conference in Australia. Karin presently teaches for the following:

  • Faculty member for JAWS – Just Add Water Seminars for performing songwriters. For more information or to register for an upcoming workshop visit the JAWS website.
  • Provider for PCG Nashville (www.pcgnashville.com), an entertainment consulting and development company founded by Teddy Gentry (co-founding member of the super-group Alabama) and music industry veteran, Bernard Porter, in the capacity of mentor/songwriting coach.
  • “Pro on the Road” and an “Adopt a Shop” pro with Nashville Songwriter’s International Association (NSAI) affording her the opportunity to teach at various locations through out the year.
  • Available for one-on-one songwriting instruction for students in and around Nashville or, for students outside of Tennessee, via Skype.
    • Private sessions are scheduled hourly and are tailored to meet the needs of each individual writer. Using her wildly popular book Monkey Manual for Songwriters as a springboard – topics covered can include but are not limited to:
      1. Building blocks – basic songwriting structure
      2. Critiquing songs
      3. Prosody – the marriage of melody and lyrics
      4. Overcoming writer’s block
      5. Writing for Nashville
      6. Taking care of business
