Monkey-in-a-Round Nashville,TN ![]() Each month on the third Friday Karin and Bill DiLuigi host a writer's
night at the Frothy Monkey on 12th Ave South in Nashville. This has been an awesome time to hear from some of Nashville's most talented writers and artists…it has also been an opportunity to raise awareness of the plight of many who sadly go to bed hungry every night. When Karin traveled to Kenya with her son Michael in the Spring of 2006,
she met with local churches who are trying to build a home and school for more than 200 orphans….after her visit she promised to help in any way she could. Together they decided to offer hand made African crafts for a modest
donation to raise the necessary funds to build the home and feed the children. Karin and Bill have decided to offer these fine crafts and display photos of these precious children every month – won't you come out and support this effort….for what we do unto the least, we do unto the Lord! ![]() ![]() |

Saying Goodbye – a tribute to Gospel recording artist Donald Hatcher![]() DC Hatcher and Holyfamily
Karin spent last week in New York attending the memorial services of gifted Gospel artist and friend
Donald Hatcher who was taken suddenly Friday July 27 the result of a massive heart attack. Donald, sometimes referred to as the “Quincy Jones of Gospel”, was a celebrated songwriter, pianist, vocalist and arranger/producer. Karin and Donald met more than 10 years ago when he asked her to perform with him in a Christmas
service at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Roosevelt, New York. They went on to become close friends, recording an eclectic Gospel Album together entitled Crimson Red and performing together across the New York Metro area. Donald (center) is pictured above with his gosepl music group Holyfamily. Donald, the founder of
the group, was joined by musicians Ron Jennings on bass, Lee Brown and Andy White on guitar, Bobby Mosley on drums and vocalists Bernadine Peterson, Angela Nash, Patricia Jennings, Tawana Brown, Jo Ann Wilson, Carolyn Harding, Rebecca Simmons and Yolande Brown. This is the second loss of a band member as Angela Nash was tragically killed not long in an automobile accident just outside of New York City. However the music lives on . . . Donald was in the studio recently working on his latest project
which is being completed posthumously and the CDs "Surrender" and "Crimson Red" are both available for purchase through CDBaby. While in New York, Karin penned a new song in honor of her dear friend which is presently in production
at Lamp Post Studio – the studio that she and Donald used so often. She will add her vocals to that of Holyfamily and present the finished recording to Donald's family as a living memorial. Donald is surived by his wife of 19 years Jeannnie, his son Andrew 17, and his daughter Rachel
9, as well as many extended family, friends and the music community on Long Island and around the world – truly our loss is heaven's gain. |

Nashville on business. The two spoke of promoting her new CD I am Ready as well as the possibility of arranging a concert tour in Japan. Karin was thrilled by the idea of performing in Japan – the land of her birth! If all goes well she may be touring as early as December 06.
